Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of Ozu and all content generated through the Service. By using Ozu, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in account suspension or termination.

1. Permitted Use

Ozu is designed for filmmakers, animators, directors, and creative professionals to generate pre-production and production assets — characters, sets, props, storyboard frames, animatics, video, voice, and other media — from their original scripts and creative briefs. You may use the Service for commercial and personal creative projects, subject to the restrictions below.

Ozu is a filmmaking tool. Fictional violence, fictional crime, and dramatic depictions of war or action in a screenplay or generated scene are allowed. What we prohibit below is real-world harm, sexual abuse, deception, and IP you don’t have rights to — not action cinema.

2. Prohibited Content

You may not use the Service to generate, store, or distribute content that:

• Depicts minors in sexual, exploitative, or abusive situations, or sexualizes minors in any way
• Constitutes or facilitates child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form
• Is nonconsensual intimate imagery (NCII) of any person, including AI-generated or digitally forged intimate imagery
• Is non-consensual sexual content
• Is intended to harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate a real person
• Incites real-world violence or terrorism
• Promotes self-harm
• Constitutes hate speech targeting individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
• Generates copyrighted characters, franchises, or other protected IP you don’t have rights to (including well-known studio properties such as Disney, Marvel, and similar). Original characters that share a generic trope with existing work are fine; copying a specific copyrighted character is not
• Generates a digital replica of a real, identifiable person’s voice or visual likeness without documented consent from that person, or another legal right that covers the use (see Section 4). Naming an actor or film as shorthand for a type (“a Brad Pitt for this role”) is allowed. Asking the Service to generate that person, or uploading their photo, voice, or footage as reference, is not
• Infringes on the intellectual property rights of third parties (see our DMCA & Content Policy)
• Impersonates real individuals without their consent for deceptive purposes
• Is designed to deceive, defraud, or mislead others (deepfakes intended to deceive, fabricated evidence, etc.)
• Violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law

This list does not ban fictional violence, fictional crime, or dramatic war and action.

If you believe Ozu is hosting nonconsensual intimate imagery of you, including an AI forgery, use the notice-and-removal process in our DMCA & Content Policy.

3. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
• Circumvent rate limits, credit restrictions, or access controls
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without written permission
• Share account credentials or allow others to use your account
• Resell or redistribute the Service or access to the Service without authorization
• Interfere with the operation of the Service or other users' access
• Attempt to access other users' accounts, projects, or generated content
• Use the Service to generate training data for competing AI models

4. Content Involving Real People — faces and voices

Ozu is a creative tool. You may generate fictional characters, original designs, and conceptual artwork freely.

Generated voices, faces, and performances may incidentally resemble real people. That resemblance is not intended as a portrayal, endorsement, or digital replica of any particular person. Ozu does not warrant that outputs are unlike any real person.

Incidental resemblance is not permission. Filmmakers often name an actor or a film as shorthand for a type. That kind of reference is allowed. What is not: using the Service to generate that specific person, or uploading their photo, voice, or footage as a reference. If you convert a named reference into attributes, those attributes have to describe a type, not a recipe for one identifiable person.

You must not commercially exploit a real person’s voice or likeness without documented rights. Voice generation — Seed Audio (via our generation gateway), ElevenLabs, and Qwen TTS — is replica-sensitive in the same way faces are.

Recorded reference video, including video-to-video: if you record or upload video of a real person so Ozu can generate new video from that motion or appearance, you must be 18. If it is you, you consent to us sending that recording to third-party AI providers for that purpose (some may use it under their own terms, including to train). If anyone else appears in the recording, send them Ozu’s likeness-consent form and wait for their e-signature before generating. We store the signed form with the project. Your checkbox is not a substitute. A signed form is not a union clearance. Don’t record people who haven’t agreed.

If you use the Service to generate content that depicts or closely resembles real, identifiable individuals, you are responsible for ensuring you have documented consent or another legal basis to do so. Ozu does not verify likeness or voice rights. Generating a real-person digital replica of voice or visual likeness without that consent or legal basis is prohibited under Section 2.

5. AI Content Labeling

All content generated through Ozu is AI-generated or AI-assisted. You are responsible for disclosing this appropriately when publishing or distributing generated content, in compliance with applicable laws and platform policies. See our AI Content Policy for details.

6. Enforcement

We reserve the right to review content and conduct for compliance with this policy. Enforcement actions may include:

• Warning notification
• Temporary suspension of generation capabilities
• Permanent account termination
• Reporting to law enforcement where legally required (e.g., CSAM)

We are not obligated to monitor content proactively, but we will investigate reports of policy violations. If you believe content on the Service violates this policy, report it to [email protected].

A single generation declined by a provider’s safety system is not, by itself, an AUP termination. Intentionally submitting content that violates this policy — and account action we take for that — is a different matter. See the Refund Policy for how failed-generation credits are handled.

7. Appeals

If your account is suspended or terminated for a policy violation, you may appeal by emailing [email protected] with "AUP Appeal" in the subject line. We will review appeals within 10 business days.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be communicated to registered users via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
